Mike Jessick

With 7 years of experience as a User Experience Designer and Business Analyst, splitting my time between the agency world and one of the "Big Four" technology consulting firms, I feel I'm always adding pieces to my own puzzle... a puzzle I'm always trying to figure out. I specialize in the user experience, prototyping, requirements gathering, process engineering and digital technology concept development. I aim to inspire through collaboration and inclusion in the process of innovation - whether it be a new digital product concept, an easy and intuitive software interface, a streamlined audio production process or a piece of music.

I founded Tactical Sound, an audio recording & production studio, in 2003, transitioning to the other side of the glass after spending nine years with two successful Boston-based bands. I have proficient playing ability and knowledge of voice, percussion, guitar, bass, piano, trombone, trumpet and saxophone. I also have performance experience in ska, punk, metal, reggae, jazz and indie rock genres. This diverse knowledge of different instruments and music styles is imperative to my success as a producer. It helps me communicate with musicians in a much more organic way, improving the efficiency of collaborations in the studio.

Graduated with honors from Boston University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, focusing on digital signal processing (DSP) and acoustic theory. Growing up, it was always my goal to bend the rules to fit a chosen career path, building my own academic blend of technical problem solving and creative content. This has provided me with great attention to detail as well as a deep understanding of the theory behind music creation and the emerging technologies that are being leveraged by leaders in the industry. I'm always looking to challenge myself further, find the next puzzle piece and impact the way that music, technology and information will continue influencing the rest of the world.

Outside of my professional ambitions, I grow a hops garden and have gotten pretty deep into homebrewing. I love to snowboard, cook and play cards.
